I wrote you a poem
on the back of this envelope
just like a real poet.
I brought out
my inner thoughts
about you and me.
I rhymed love
with heaven above.
I rhymed heart
with never to part
and Valentine
with always mine
.
It wasn’t a good poem
but it was clean
and I avoided
rhyming bed
with head.
