I was eating in a diner
Yesterday at noon
Having a bowl of soup
And as I raised my spoon
Noticed something in the dish
That appeared to be swimmin’
Thought at first it was
A lot of tiny naked wimmin’
But I was wrong
It was a big black fly
Doin’ the fly-paddle
I don’t know why.
Called the waiter over
So him I could tell
About this problem
And maybe give him some hell.
He took one look
And said, “Now ain’t that neat.
That will be two-bits extra
For the meat! ”
