I have never wanted anyone as much as I did you today.
It was in your eyes, in the way
you half blushed, lips curling then scared, I looked away,
then turned to meet your electric gaze.
I wanted to rip the gi right off your body and take
your hand and lead you astray and make
you shout, shout, scream, weep, pray.
Your cheeks- so perfect, even when bruised and your hands
like cymbals, like anvils, and those strands
of your hair that crept down your forehead.
All I could think about was how it would feel to
hold you.
I have never wanted anyone as much as I did you today.
When you lay, or sat, or stood, jumped, dodged, feinted,
kicked, punched, blocked, and won
all I could think about was how it would feel to
have you.
When you smiled, and oh, you smiled,
and spoke to me in whispers light, lilting, mild,
all I could think about was how it would feel
to kiss you. Neil.
