We didn't know what was in store
On the road far from our home.
We were glad though sometimes we felt so all alone.

I still now hear the sweet song
During some starry summer nights -
A soft lullaby
Of a bird who sang in the blue swinging sun light.

We wanted out in the world
For the happiest days to soon come -
Shining days when we wouldn't be lonesome.
Our dreams are glistening, pure pearls in the bright sun.
