Old memories, like my old bones
are still aging and aching;
it could be that they always will,
on some level or another.
Seen too many bridges burned
and roads that led me nowhere
with nothing but sad regrets,
and heartaches.
Blaming myself doesn’t make it true.
You can only do with what you’ve got;
life has always been just a grab bag
of hopes and actual circumstances.
Guess the only real truth is that all
that could be done, was what i did;
all the rest is ‘maybes’, ‘wish i hads,
‘wish i’d dones’and the ‘could have beens’.
