When I was young,
I could lie for hours beneath a towering tree
At the park, with the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen beside me.
We would hold each other in our arms; tightly,
Until the long hours of the day had turned to night,
And only the moon and the stars could see our love.
When I was young,
I could look into her eyes and feel the world stand still,
Till time had eluded us and passed us by
I was left wondering, when would I see her again,
Beginning to miss her already
Before saying goodbye.
When I was young,
She opened my eyes
And showed me what Heaven was like
We were living in this world of ours
Where fairy tales weren’t make believe
And the dreams from our sleep would awaken into reality.
