I was there to help you

I was there if you'd happen to fall.
Beside you alone I'd stand Until
the time you could stand alone
And now your grown.
You say its my life, my
hand is no longer small.
I no longer need you at all.
I no longer need you to help
me stand.
Alone I want to stand.
