Sometimes it seems
I always write the ground
I never write the stars, the clouds
Sometimes I write the ocean
But, I never write the sun
I know there’s something there
In the depth of your smile
A moment of inertia
A calculation of infinity
A genteel grace of unknown proportion
… And I know there is something here,
Somewhere…
Within the break of my heart
In the storm in my soul
In the salt of my tears
In the freedom of my laughter
Sometimes it seems
I always write the days
I never write the seasons, the moons
Sometimes I write the dusk
But, I never write the dawn
I know there’s something there
In the brilliance of your eyes
