Donna Elouise James - Days in the trees

2014-06-16 2 Dailymotion

In the corner of my room
Curled up with my chin on my knees
I think about those days in the trees

At the edge of a corn field
Stood our five trees
Slow dancing, in the summer breeze

While the sun shone down
The shade would pass
Over entwined bodies laying in the grass

The swing you made
The heart I broke
The love we found
The innocence I lost

That summer has long gone
And nothing remains
Except our names

Mine carved on a branch of a tree
Yours etched on stone in a cemetery
