My little darling
I’ll take you to the zoo
You’ll surely enjoy it there
And there is ice-cream waiting for you
I’ll also take you to watch the sea
The waves thrashing and the golden beach
There is another land across the ocean
Far away, beyond your tiny reach
Not far away from there
Is a vast and noisy shipyard
Don’t make mischief, you’ll get hurt
I’ll stand by your side as your guard
Whatever you ask for my dear little one
I shall bring it for you; sure I will
I would move heaven and earth
For all your little wishes to fulfill
In your twinkling eyes with long eye lashes
Tears often sparkled and shone
Oh my poor darling! ! I shall never forget
Memories I’ll carry even after I’m gone
On your tiny legs silver anklets tinkle
As you toss around in your sleep
Smiling over you I wonder what you dream
Into your dreamland will you let me take a peep?
Climb onto my lap, my Angel
I’ll tickle you breathless and tell you a tale
The moral of the story never forget
In your years to come you will never fail.
