you used whispers up
in the winter darkness
where we sat
together
so close
Warm hands used to
creep tentatively forward
until they found my
Together we sat
and remembered
each word
and touch
But somewhere along the way
you gradually forgot
the word love
Now I sit alone
in the winter darkness
where the tears
freeze
trying to remember
what it was like to be loved
