Never had I been the recipient of a stranger's hatred
that shot through his eyes and spoke through his frown.
Never had I feared a child until yesterday,
as I strolled through the supermarket, about my own business,
with eyes watching and following me because I was
too covered.
I don't remember much after rushing out through the exit
after misplacing my shopping perhaps in a freezer
And running up the street and often looking back,
I don't recall very much but
fearing for my safety while fearing those children.
