You are mine
In the lull, inhabited town
The seas swelter
As the Sun bursts
In a flourish of tangerine.
Divinities, bless the daylight
And its saccharine stench
Left on her skin,
A garden of sugar.
How your body works
Is a riddle.
The roads are rigid
As the shadows break
In a peal of tears
The night swallows them whole -
My breath halts -
A mesmeric sojourn into your
Labyrinths
In this lull, inhabited town.
The alleys, the marketplace
Are blank underneath
The stark asylum
That is the caliginosity.
We remain here:
You,
I, in this infinite amalgamation
The mornings will be jealous
Of us,
The seas will envy
The salt of your skin
And the languid clocks
Will stop
As you meddle with time:
Frozen, unkempt.
In the still suburban civic,
We are amaranthine.
The heavens have no claim
Over us – amaranths
Of time and fable.
