Jay Bradley - The Moon's Lullaby

We lay in the parking lot, trying to find God,
I did not know her, but I held her as a friend,
We shared passion and serenity as we'd bend,
So Zeus praised us holy, his gift the lightning rod;

We decided to swim, inspired by our souls,
Waves that dove divine, murky waters to behold,
Her tides sweet as wine, grasping flowers gilded gold,
Guided by the beacon, guarded by ancient trolls;

Those currents stole her west, my heart wondered east,
An infinite good-bye waved the hand out of reach,
A lonesome lullaby lolls the moon to the beach,
We gorged each other, but hungered different feast;

Now in another life, I ponder to atone,
I grasp another wife, though I feel still all alone.
