Why does it feel like holding you
would make everything alright
why does it feel like we had
some kind of lovers fight
I tried to save my best for you
but life took it from me
I only wanted your understanding
not your sympathy
really do hear everything
sometimes only later comprehend
I wondered what type of man I'd be
willing to shed tears for again
some men we cry to break free from
and some in longing to draw near
mine made no sense until I realized
