I rely on memory regarding schools
I attended long ago, trying to weigh up
The undoubted benefits they brought me
With a certain downside at high school.
Primary school was a strange new space
To enter at first: I missed my home.
However, I got to like the subjects taught,
Especially when I got high marks and places.
I went to just two high schools in two towns.
I did well at the first and missed those teachers.
In time, though, I adapted to the new one,
Doing well in English and other languages.
I achieved my goal of being the top scholar
In that high school against many competitors.
Even so, I somehow clashed with a few teachers.
After graduation, I just discarded the uniform.
