I was lost in the wonder of your eyes.
Their intensity made me look into the depths;
My search was in vain; never found myself there.
But your gaze made me believe foolish thoughts,
Like I was the princess in the story.
But I never was; you can’t be blamed.
It was a mere trick of your elegant charm.
My fairytale vanished in the blink of an eye.
There was no prince; and I wasn’t the princess.
This was not even my story; I was lost!
I had not expected the betrayal from my eyes,
Nevertheless, the pool of moisture welled up-
And came down, caressing down my cheeks.
