His life changed, when he had a little girl
to hold protectively, bounce upon his knee
an angel with whom he blessed unconditional love
and such joy that he never thought could be
When his princess was born, with a smile he knew
that this beauty he created had his heart
from the very second he held her in his arms
hearing her lustrous cries of life from the the start
Of all the achievements in life along with the many
struggles he survived and all things that he could be
meant absolutely nothing at all what so ever to him
when she couldn't be there with blue eyes so like his to see
If she wasn't with him to to experience all the love
but knowing for her well being he would always sacrifice
while battling all the demons haunting him from within
so she'd have a steady life with a daddy who didn't have a vice
In his years upon this earth, he labored with pride as well as hard
to make sure his angel of princess was given all he could
as he prayed to God, he would live long enough to walk
her down the aisle as only the proud daddy of a princess would
Yet cherishing in the time he had, the 'I love you, daddy's'
from the greatest blessing he ever had, bouncing on his knee
Knowing for him the hugs, kisses, laughter and playfulness
from this little version of him, his princess, where-ever he is he'll see
