Comes The Rain

Rain pelts steadily on the roof
Pretty obvious, it isn't soundproof
Showers keep coming day after day
Will it ever stop, or just keep up this way

I see on the tele that people are drowning
God made a promise, oh so many years ago
Never more will He flood the earth again
T'was never, He wouldn't make us mermen

Men are wonderful creatures, true
Think of all the things that we can do
We are also frail little human beasts
Some who do great paintings are called artistes

Too much sun and we dry to a crisp
Too little and we become frail wisps
Too much cold and we become frozen
Too much heat and all are barren

So let the rain pelt steadily on my roof
Then let it pass away this day
So sunshine can dry all the puddles away
Then I can look forward to a life being ok
