I know, I know this truth
E’er since my early youth:
When every mundane desire dies,
All fulfilled the Self does when rise,
Phoenix-like from ashes arise,
Beyond all Me’s and Mine’s and I’s.
The seeker in me when applies,
Surfaces Infinite to size,
And when my true desire that lies
Somnolent wakes, Self doth arise;
When attachment to my self dies,
Higher One in freedom doth rise.
I know, I’ve often heard this truth,
But this life is such a sweet tooth!
