The Symposium was organized at Sharda University on July 6, 2011 under a joint initiative of RTDC, DRDO and Materials Research Society of India (MRSI). During the Conference, recent frontiers of advanced materials suitable for commercial applications were discussed considering the context and theme of the event. Prof. Dinesh K. Agrawal of Materials Research Institute, Pennstate (MRI), USA. Six lectures were delivered by scientists and Technocrats during the event where as research scholars presented posters. Around 21 abstracts from various institutions were accepted for publications in the proceedings of the conference.
