Residents in the San Francisco Bay Area are waking up to damage after the largest earthquake in 25 years.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED MAN SAYING:
"I've been through a lot of earthquakes. I'm a lifetime Californian and it was a serious rocker. I woke up and I was calling out for wife, and flashes of light and a lot of rock and roller."
The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter was on the northern edge of the Bay, about six miles south of the famous wine-producing region of Napa.
The quake seriously injured two people, damaged historic buildings and caused power outages throughout the area.

"I felt an incredible shake. At first I thought there was a bomb that went off."
One family close to the center had a camera in their living room that captured the quake.
The USGS said a number of small aftershocks around magnitude 2 range have followed.
