STORY: The husband and wife designers Max and Lubov Azria of fashion label Herve Leger by Max Azria are taking their cues from a modern day Japanese female warrior for Spring 2015.

"My inspiration for the collection is a modern day onna-bugeisha, which is a Japanese warrior woman, and I wanted to bring to this collection the femininity, the strength, the journey of a woman ," Lubov Azria, half of the design duo, said of the brand's runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) in New York on Saturday (September 6).

The iconic Herve Leger skintight bandage dress, famous for strips of fabric that hug a woman's body in all the right places, got upgrades by adding beads, studs and metallic embellishments.

Herve Leger by Max Azria debuted on New York runways in fall 2008. Fashion Week in New York, a twice-a-year event, runs through September 11.
