How To Make: Homemade Marinara Sauce

2014-09-09 65 Dailymotion

This is by far the best sauce I have ever tasted. It has a nice blend of spices with a little kick to it. Not too spicy but just the right amount of it.

My Variation:
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 tsp minced garlic
28oz Crushed Tomatoes (I use the brand from Aldi) You can also used diced if your prefer.
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/4 -1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (If you prefer this sauce on the milder side, use 1/4..if you want more of a kick to it use 1/2tsp)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)
-I also like to add in ground beef, but you could add in ground turkey, sausage, etc

Add the olive oil to a pot on the stove on medium high heat. Once oil is hot add in your minced garlic and stir until browned. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until combined. Cover the pot with a lid and reduce heat to medium low and let simmer for 7-10minutes.

***I have found that this sauce freezes well and I love making a double batch (one for dinner that night and another to freeze for a dinner later)
