We have to place a blind trust into those who are in charge of our loves ones' remains.
A cemetery employee in a Spanish town allegedly posed for a photo with a corpse. The body belongs to a man who died 23 years ago.
His remains were being moved from the existing grave to make room for his spouse’s body in a tomb belonging to the family.
A relative had arranged for the designated spot to be extended. The gravedigger, identified only as Clemente, was assigned the job of breaking up the corpse.
The family member who is behind the modifications to the grave used her phone to take a photo of Clemente with her deceased uncle. It’s unclear why she did so, but the picture shows Clemente holding up the dead man’s body next to another male.
The niece later sent the photo to a loved one using WhatsApp. It didn’t take long for the image to spread on social media and for local town hall staffers to become aware of what happened.
An employee said “It was silliness with no justification whatsoever and we will have to take a decision.” Clemente has since been suspended from his normal job duties.
