Spain’s government has raised its growth outlook for this year and next.

The Economy Minister Luis de Guindos now says the economy should expand by 1.3 percent this year, slightly better than its previous forecast of 1.2 percent.

For 2015, the government is now projecting gross domestic product will grow 2.0 percent. Back in April it was forecasting 1.8 percent.

The Madrid government is also expecting unemployment to ease from 24.47 percent of the workforce currently to 22.2 percent in 2015 as the economic recovery gathers pace.

The latest forecasts came in a statement issued following a weekly cabinet meeting
