The situation in Kurdish Kobani, Syria near the Turkish border remains much the same. A third of the city is still in the hands of Islamic State (IS) militants. The battle rages on as allied airstrikes continue, and Turkey still refuses to allow the establishment of a humanitarian corridor at its border.
