if i dove into the sun’s rays,
and stretched out on it’s fiery back-
i would be frozen in time forever.
if i danced with daffodils,
and wrapped myself in their delicate petals-
i would have reached the fragile world of beauty.
if i slipped on banana peels,
and juggled cheery lemons-
i would have mastered the art of comedy.
but alas, here sits i,
eating a slice of sugary pound cake-
as the vibrant yellow vanishes when it turns soggy in my mouth.
