A fellow sits and chirps a song
His hair is short, his jacket long
Each note a window to his past
A hope to make each moment last
The sun shines down upon his face
As he rests in this so grassy place
Children’s laughter reminding then
The fun and games when he was ten
Alas the years have aged him true
His once sharp now blurry view
But in his heart he jumps for joy
Just as he did back as a boy
Like the winds the tune did fade
Quiet where the young once played
And with a smile from ear to ear
He shed his last forgotten tear
