Planted ‘neath the soil of life
A tiny, precious seed
Will one day be a friendship
Upon which trust may feed
And as time moves along its course
This sprout begins to grow
Sweetening the earthen ground
With all it will bestow
Soon the twig will form a bud
A friendship in the making
Shrouded in a cloak of hope
Available for taking
One day it will open
And become a vibrant flower
Blossoming in friendship
As it's cleansed by spring's first shower
Planted ‘neath the soil of life
This everlasting seed
Will seal itself in friendship
On which love and trust will feed
