Be not amused,
My dear old shoes
Have given up their sole.
I cannot say
How they got that way
Only that they have a hole.
One to each shoe,
What can I do
But fix them fast and hard,
The best I can
As any man
Would with a piece of card.
So too some glue,
One tube should do,
Repair will be my goal
'Til once more feet
Shall be quite neat,
Not black as pit-face coal!
