Lord, Thy sacrament is told to take away my sins, my guilt, and my sorrows;
Grace and blessing were bestowed;
Burden lifted and joy returns.
Why is now my heart so laden?
Wandering words absent, aimless mind blank, random thoughts disintegrated;
Inwardly this sinful heart is broken in anguish.
If this is the price for your forgiveness and mercy
I beg Thee to include her in my stead
As I now long to pay her for my quick temper and past faults
O Lord, again and again I breaks the promise
I had made in Thy presence fortnight
That I would reserve my heart only for Thee
But the inner wound is so deep, my Lord
May I now offer it as my oblation and holocaust
The burning of my inmost depth
I offer Thee, Oh Lord, to validate my redemptive sacrifice
For sins of mine, hers, and others’
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy,
Lord, have mercy.
