That poor ol girl
No matter how hard she tried
She never won
But she never cried
Each time was a different
Situation from the last
Though it never mattered
Each opportunity passed
She worked very hard
Gave it all her effort
Yet, more they demanded
And the more she got hurt
Till one lonely day
The girl took her life
To the funeral they all came
And preached about her strife
They told the story
'Oh she worked so diligently! '
No one knew why
She gave her life so willingly
That poor ol girl
As hard as she tried
Though they did not see it
She had always cried
(And she never won
At least that is what it seemed
But she didn't give life a chance
To see what hard work brings)
