The ache

It's day again
With twilight near
And life, it seems
Is forever
This world is
But an ephemeral flower
Come man and women here
And depart at his Will
Little does he realize that
Death is perpetually
Dancing at his door
Yet man clings to his life
To his worldly beings
As if they belong to him forever
Erudite all we are
In garnering worldly treasures
But this treasure of truth
Nor do we notice,
Nor do we acquire
Chanting the Name Divine
Serving saints and sages
Serving the suffering and the poor
Loving and adoring the Creator
All seem but a throbbing pain deep within
Life without this ache for the Beloved
Without yearning for Him is indeed futile
But this aching pain gradually subsides
And eventually turns into peaceful bliss
When we see this aching
Drawing us closer to our beloved divine
