I am bloody civilian
A non-combatant personnel
Of Indian Navy
Paid from Defence estimate,
I kept my foot-step first
At the Lion gate
Of Naval Dockyard, Mumbai
As an apprentice
With three mates
When I was eighteen plus.
I am bloody civilian
Now, fifty eight years old
Only two years to get freedom back
Which has already been sold
During this long journey …
I have learnt two golden rules from navy
service officers are always right,
Civilians are fools
Service officers only work
All others are tools.
I am bloody civilian
Like the last chapter of a book
I don't love the navy,
I don't love the navy officers
I only love my work
And love my motherland
I work for the salary
That is paid into my account
I want to reside in such a town
Where white dresses are banned.
