I have but to lament the slaughter
Of my deep dearest feelings.
I could not, I dared not,
Avoid such a death,
For they had
Only to
Die. -
I bore out of my heart their blues
Alone they would not live
And the soul’s attempt
To befuddle an end
Was only vain,
Quite like
I. -
