I know he doesn't hate me
as much as he tells his friends he does.
I know it isn't hate he feels,
but it was never love.
I know I made him smile
once or twice, at least.
I know he cared a little bit.
That beauty loved his beast.
He's made up all these stories.

I hadn't felt the magic.
No harder I could've tried.
It wasn't anything special.
