The greatest thief of life is time
Of children, home the wife thats mine
Yet nature brings to those so few
That which we love is also due
We ask of life more then receive
And those we miss we sorely grieve
Yet most are thankful for this life
Beset with troubles also strife
We grasp with fingers etched by time
And say this world, this life is mine
Don't linger on what might have been
Give thanks at least for what you've seen
Upon this earth no time at all
Perspective seems like spring to fall
To waste your life should be a crime
For the greatest thief in life is time.
