I wish that I could take your pain,
Soothe your heart and make it better.
I wish that I could stop the hurt,
Ensure no more should damage you.
But then I see, it's not my role,
To change your life in such a way.
For all these things that hurt us so,
They make us change, they make us grow.
Instead I'll stay right by your side,
A friend to you, and not a guide.
Trust in me, I say to you,
I'll be right here, from day to day.
I wish you love and happiness;
They're things that you deserve Sue.
I wish you peace and harmony,
