Do you think Jesus had a good sense of humor?
See, I’ve always had this image of him as being
very serious and solemn. But then I thought,
wait a minute! He was a human being, not a
robot like you. He almost certainly had a lighter
side. Now, try to form a mental picture of Jesus
doubling over with convulsive laughter, with
tears streaming down his face as he cracks up
over something really hilarious. Go ahead, try to
picture that. It feels good, doesn’t it? This is the
basis for my new money-making product,
“Laugh Along With Jesus”©. I’ll tell you about
that in a minute, but first, wouldn't it be cool if
some of the color plates in those illustrated
bibles had captions like, “Jesus sharing a laugh
with Pontius Pilot” or something like that? It
would make Jesus seem more dimensional and
less wooden. It might help with Christianity
recruitment if people thought of Jesus as
something more than a monochromatic deity
who loved them from afar.
