Did God ever promise
An existence without grief -
Smile without tears?
Sunshine, without rain?
Daybreak, without twilight?
Spark without darkness?
But He did promise
Strength to handle a day,
Comfort in each tear,
Light for the way,
Friends to share,
And a life so sweet!
