Is there depth in absolution?
From that which isn't mine
Is there freedom for the victim?
From the guilt that masks the crime
Is there justice for the soul that cries
For redemption from the past?
That struggles through confrontation
In innocence now passed
Demons dog the darkest hour
Seeking freedom in the light
Yet linger in the shadows
Delighting in your fright
Will the shroud that wraps the conscious
Fall in tatters to the ground
In seeking absolution
Can a new life still be found.
