Amongst the smoke,
The laughs and the jokes,
I stare at you.
Amongst the secrets and the lies,
I can’t help but realize,
I’m admiring you.
Between the silence and the smiles,
Hidden in coldness and disguise,
I care for you.
Sharing songs during the night,
With the moon in all it’s might,
I still want you.
Either in civil conversation,
Or provoking devastation,
I yearn for you.
In all my craziness and loneliness,
I may seem careless and emotionless,
But I ache for you,
I might be rare, I might be erratic,
And to all, you’re emblematic and enigmatic,
But I’m simply mesmerized by you.
Regardless of the time,
Your presence is sublime,
And I crave for you.
Amongst the smoke, I hear your voice,
With its sound I rejoice,
Even if it’s not to me directed,
I still feel protected.
Amongst the words, between the lies,
On top of the grass I still lie,
Hoping that you would pity me,
And finally, look at me,
Touch me,
Feel me.
Start the smoke once again,
Everything with disdain,
Enjoy the drink, start to sing,
Embrace what the night can bring,
Fake a smile, avoid my sight,
Find in your quietness some delight,
Remain closed, perpetually cold,
That pretense will just get old.
I know you well, is that a shame?
If it is, then I’m to blame,
Do forgive me for whatever I’ve done,
And realize, for me, you’re the only one.
