I'd Rather Die!
By
Barbara Lynn Terry
I'd rather die,
Than live this lie
of being a man,
Cause you see I am,
This little girl in me,
And I wish my body could be,
the female that is my soul.
I am always told
That because my body is male,
That I must be a man,
When I know a girl I am.
I love to wear pretty dresses,
Have my hair in long curly tresses.
To play jump rope, jacks and hopscotch.
But because my body is male,
And they will not publish my tale,
And cannot love the man,
Who would accept me as I am,
I'd rather die,
Than live this constant lie.
