Is it letting my heart blossom
Like spring orchids,
Smiling nakedly at the sun?
Is it those native children
Pollinating the wasteland
Through their careless run?

Can it be found on this altar,
The lighted lanterns,
The chimes of these bells,
This seashore stroll,
In the inner contours
Of these sand-filled shells?

What is it about you
That sets this golden-bird
Daybreak behind my eyes,
A song like a child
Wailing at the rising sun
Atop the highest of the highest rise.

Why do you make me yearn for you,
Do you know I like it,
For you to make my heart race?
And should I stay in the familiar cold
Or become lost
In this unknown warm place.
