What a strange lot these people must be!
They expose true hearts and set words free.
Some take you to single light-bulb flophouses,
others to Aegean seas as lovers or spouses.
Some seductively set you up and then bite.
They suck your soul with ghoulish delight.
Some force you to look up words like 'ruminate'
Which by the way, just means to meditate.
Some reveal memories of that very first kiss.
Others hint of erotic passions of lovers' bliss.
Poems written to a melody of a distant song.
Poets that have been silent for much too long.
Poems universal as rain, personal as a tear.
Love, while exposing....exploring every fear.
Some dream of how they want to be kissed.
Some speak of grandparents, now deeply missed.
Poems of that heavenly moment of sweet surrender.
Poems of hearts torn in fate's high speed blender.
Worlds seen through a lover's embrace,
Love or pain that time simply can not erase.
The universes I once saw in her eyes
and the pain of saying long goodbyes.
Worlds of rainbows, butterflies, and trees.
Dark expressions by dread dead mangled zombies.
