What part of me,
My dearest Mother,
Did you weave
When you created me
On your loom of life?
What part of my warp
And my woof
Did you weave
To bring me
Into this world?
Was it the strength of my being,
The choice of my fabric
Chosen along
With the color of
My hair and my eyes?
From your loom of life
You wove my threads
Until my fabric
Was complete.
This is a poem I wrote for my own Mother, but now I dedicate it anew to my daughters who are wonderful enough to share their children with me, because part of my fabric, woven by my mother, continues in my children and grandchildren. Scarlett Treat
