There is a tendency
That creates a dependency.
When life is filled with pain
Depression floods the brain.
Perhaps a simple pill
Will erase and fulfill.
The pressure is relieved
From a life that is deceived.
Chemicals reinforce a shield.
Improved, but not healed…
Reroute the emotional wires…
Lower the volume of amplifiers.
The pharmacy fills the scripts
That prevent an ebony eclipse.
Preventing tears of salty streams,
Seeking the sewer of empty dreams.
