They only thought of themselves when they said that one word
That's what I used to think
They never dared to ask us if we thought it was absurd
Six little kids had to hear that one word
We all went with mom
But there was a time we had to choose
To choose which one would give us food
Forced to choose one and the other excude
At first I thought this was rude
Wondered why I was forced to do a deed that need not be done
But this one word caused me to see the light
No more was my father in sight
He was hardly there before but after that word it ended his plight
He no longer pretended to be around
It showed me who he truly was
I would've never guessed he'd be such a mess
And I realized all of this thanks to that one word
