How Great Thou Art
A Passion Play by Clydesdale
How Great Thou Art - Hosannah
sung by young girls’ voices
soloists accompanied, beautiful voices
singing soprano, alto, Via Dolorosa
uncovering the inner core of sadness
in my heart, covered by everyday gaiety
the artificial cover stripped away
the inner fire of infinite sadness
reaches consciousness in a wonderful
feeling of immeasurable pain and nostalgia
of dreams lost, hopes destroyed, all gone –
Stella, starry-eyed, heart ablaze with song,
David, relating tales, warming dreams within his hands
melodies in minor tones and sweet notes
How Great Thou Art in a minor scale
alto, soprano and a weaving descant
in and out, all around, culminating in
Handel’s Hallelujah Choir -
Hope lies in Eternity!
